So much of Jayne Douyere's time is spent focused on and getting the best image. She is a sonographer at the Longreach Hospital by day and outback photographer the rest of the time.
Her honeymoon to Africa in 1998 provided the motivation for Jayne to learn more that just point and shoot. But aside from a couple of recreational beginner courses she is a self taught snapper who likes to learn on the shoot by experimenting with techniques she's read about in magazines.
Sunsets are her specialty.
At 4:30pm every day I look at the clouds and you know by then if conditions are looking promising. It's still a gamble though even with favourable conditions on about 50% of the time you'll get the spectacular show.
Jayne and her now husband John moved from the east coast of Queensland to Longreach in 1996 for work and have made the central west her home.
She doesn't do people - landscape and fine art are her subjects of choice.
Her other loves include her '56 Chevy "Flo" and a cool glass of wine with great friends.
